Strawson Ltd is a family run business, based near the Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire, ideally situated logistically between the M1 and A1, established in 1976 by Tony Strawson then farming 500 acres, to present currently farming in the region of 9,000 acres.

The company operates from its base in Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire.

The core activities of Strawson Ltd are the growing of root crops; carrots and Parsnips for the supermarket sector. Potatoes for the crisping industry and the farming of sugar beet and a wide range of combinable crops.

Tony Strawson was pioneer in forming C A Strawson Ltd back in 1976. The family firm de-merged in 2002, to form Strawson Ltd, owned by Mark and Jane Strawson.

Although our main base is in Nottinghamshire we grow crops in the following counties: Suffolk, Norfolk, Lincolnshire, Yorkshire and Scotland to accommodate early and late season requirements which maximise the UK growing season.

We endeavour to grow our vegetable and potato crops on as long a rotation as possible. This has resulted in us renting land throughout the UK – we are always looking at new areas of production which meet our land criteria.

We operate a flat management system with a young, well established team. We employ approximately 85 full time staff and a number of seasonal staff. We have a long history of employing students from various agricultural colleges as placement students and also in graduate positions.

Our success is driven by our passion and our range of products. As a business we are committed to providing our colleagues with a challenging and engaging working environment and offering a truly great place to work.
